Len Banister

I have been an enthusiastic walker for most of my life.  When I retired from teaching (I was a secondary headteacher for 20 years) I decided to broaden my interest in my hobby.

I joined the Ramblers and have served them in a variety of roles: Secretary of the Essex Area; National Trustee; and, currently Essex Area Rights of Way Liaison Officer.

I have written four books of Essex walks and currently contribute to walking magazines.

My major concerns are the effects of austerity on the quality of our Public Rights of Way network and the encroachment on our rights of the Network Rail Crossing Proposals.
