Little Leighs Bridge, Rectory Lane, Little Leighs

About the scheme:

Erosion protection and embankment works are planned for Little Leighs Bridge in Rectory Lane, Little Leighs.

In order to facilitate the movement of machinery and equipment and to ensure the protection of the workforce and public, it will be necessary for a full time road closure to be implemented on Rectory Lane for the duration of the works.

The closure will affect a length of Rectory Road from the junction with Church Street for a distance of approximately 130m in a north westerly direction.

The works

Works are due to begin on 5 February 2018 when a road closure will be implemented.

Under the current work programme we anticipate works will be complete by the end of March 2018 when the road closure will be lifted.

Please note that dates may be subject to change, for example if the works are completed earlier than planned, or later if unforeseen issues arise or weather conditions are unsuitable.

What is involved and how may it affect you

The road closure will apply to all vehicles (24 hours a day) for the duration of the works and properties will be accessible from either side of the bridge via the diversion route.

An alternative route will be available via Rectory Lane, Whites Lane, Felstead Road, Littley Green Road, Church Lane and vice versa.
Pedestrian access over the bridge may be restricted during working hours when operations are in progress.

Arrangements will be in place to support access for emergency service vehicles.
