Welcome to Sandon Park and Ride CM2 7RU

Beat the traffic with stress free travel, affordable, easy to park, toilet facilities and help on help on hand if needed. By using our service you’re creating a better environment for everyone who lives, works, shops and goes to school in Chelmsford and more convenient than parking in the town centre.

Here you can find timetable information, details of fares and the route for the Sandon Park and Ride. You can also download a map of the site with directions from the map section below.

Fares

Chelmford - Calling all students 11-18. Beat the traffic and congestion get your parents to drop you at the site. Simply buy your tickets on the app or on the bus and get on board. Only £1

Children under 5 travel for free at all times

Group fare (up to 2 adults and 3 children):

All day on weekdays: £5.00
Saturday: £3.50 (Saturday special rate will offer better value for 1 adult (£1.50) and 1 child (£1.00) = £2.50).

Short Hop

Short hop fare between is only valid between Anglia Ruskin University and City Centre: £1.00 only available on bus payable to the driver.

Park and Pedal

Bring your bike with you, leave your car at the site and cycle to your destination. Introductory offer of free parking till the end of August normal cost of Park and Pedal is £3 per day. We have bike racks should you chose to leave your bike at site overnight. We also offer Secure cycle lockers £20 per month, which includes free parking. Please visit Bikeaway to secure your locker.

Vehicles under 2.2 metres can enter under the barrier

Event Parking / Hire

If you have an event and would like to hire the site please contact essexparkandride@essex.gov.uk for further details and pricing.

Lazybones UK are operating a Sunday boot sale, recommencing Sunday 6th September 2020, please check media for times.

Directions

Satnav users can find the A12/A414 junction adjacent to the site by using postcode CM2 7RU.

This is not an exact match for the location, so drivers must follow the P&R signs once they reach the junction to access the site.

Out of Hours exit

Cars can exit the site after 9pm automatically through the barrier system. In emergencies customers can contact Chelmsford City Council’s CCTV Control Centre on 01245 606 299 (24 hours).
