Wicken Fen Bridge – bridge reconstruction works due to start

Initial preparation works have been completed and we are now in a position for the main construction works at Wicken Fen Bridge to commence.

The first phase of construction works will commence on Monday 29 April 2024 and will involve mobilising the site and reconstructing the pedestrian footbridge.

From Friday 10 May 2024 a road closure will be in place on School Lane at the bridge as this is when reconstruction works of the culvert are due to start.

A signed diversion route will be in place using the following roads: Bury Water Lane, Cambridge Road, Belmont Hill, High Street, Wicken Road, School Lane and vice versa.

During the road closure school buses will be diverted down Bury Water Lane and marshals will be present during drop off and pick up times.
